The biggest news now: the anthology has been finalized! Everything’s approved and I’ve ordered the proof copy (with extra-speedy shipping). The hope is that we’ll have it by this Saturday; if not, probably Monday. And if it looks half as amazing in print as it did in the final design then I will be very pleased.

What an exhausting weekend. Fortunately it was a good one this year for us. Not terribly stressful. Worked off a lot of tension and energy playing the new Wii (our 3-year-old son’s pretty good at it. Who knew?).

Issue 12 is pretty much complete. Everything’s been double-checked, all the templates have been prepped as far as they can be. I even wrote up the little descriptions for the new items in the store (a quirk of our store’s program is that we can’t create items that are “hidden” until we’re ready to start selling them, so they have to be created in ( Read more... )

Short post today, because… bleah. It’s 1 in the morning and I’ve been dealing with crises all night. Most of it not a big deal… most. At any rate I’m not going into it, but it’s a pain in the ass.

Yesterday the general public got its first glimpse at a sneak peek of the LGBTQ issue’s cover art. Or at least, those who visited Tor.com did. Pablo Defendini and Richard Rhorer delivered on their promise to host an ad for the LGBTQ issue on the Tor.com website for free for a couple of weeks leading up to the release, and a week after. Progress is progressing!

The print edition of Issue 12 is done! The 2nd proof arrived yesterday, and Kay and I both went through it with a fine-toothed comb for any little errors. Then I fixed up what we found, and today I converted the file to PDF, uploaded it and submitted for the third time.

WOW so much to tell!

First and foremost: the print edition of Issue 12 has been finalized! Today was another example of speediness by the printer: Submitted at 11:58 am, proof ordered at 3:26 pm, proof shipped at 4:46 pm. Less than 5 hours total. Brilliant. I gotta say: DAMN I am so pleased with everything about the issue. It’s just gorgeous.
